In the Footsteps of Chris Killip
In October 2025, the Signal Gallery in Barrow held an exhibition of Chris Killips photographs of Askam in Furness, near Barrow. Taken in the 1980's these depict a post industrial community with empathy and sensitivity. The iron works had already closed by this time, and the remaining industry, fishing, was in decline. As part of the exhibition they invited other photographers to take photographs "In The Footsteps of Chris Killip". This necessitated several trips to Askam and the surrounding area, and some of the photo's were included in a related publication.
